Environmental Policy

Last updated: April 2026

1. Introduction

X-Eagle (Xeagle Ltd) recognises the impact that transport and logistics operations have on the environment. We are committed to minimising our environmental footprint and operating our courier services in an environmentally responsible manner.

This policy sets out our commitments and the practical steps we take to reduce our impact on the environment whilst maintaining the high standard of service our customers expect.

2. Our Commitment

We are committed to:

  • Reducing carbon emissions from our fleet and operations year on year
  • Complying with all applicable environmental legislation and regulations
  • Continuously improving our environmental performance
  • Raising environmental awareness among our employees, drivers, and sub-contractors
  • Working with suppliers and partners who share our commitment to sustainability
  • Setting measurable environmental targets and reviewing them annually

3. Fleet Efficiency & Vehicle Strategy

Our fleet is central to our business, and we take active steps to ensure it operates as efficiently as possible:

  • Modern fleet: We maintain a fleet of well-serviced, fuel-efficient vehicles that meet current Euro emission standards
  • Right-sizing: We match vehicle size to consignment size, ensuring we do not use larger vehicles than necessary for each job
  • Electric vehicle transition: We are actively exploring the adoption of electric and hybrid vehicles for urban and short-distance deliveries
  • Regular maintenance: All vehicles undergo scheduled maintenance to ensure engines run at peak efficiency, reducing unnecessary fuel consumption and emissions
  • Driver training: Drivers receive eco-driving training covering fuel-efficient driving techniques, including smooth acceleration, maintaining steady speeds, and minimising idling

4. Route Optimisation

We use technology and planning to minimise unnecessary mileage and reduce emissions:

  • Advanced route planning software to identify the most efficient routes
  • Real-time traffic monitoring to avoid congestion and reduce idle time
  • Strategic collection and delivery scheduling to minimise empty running
  • Multi-drop route optimisation where appropriate to reduce total journey distances
  • Local driver networks to reduce the need for long-distance vehicle positioning

5. Digital-First & Paperless Operations

We are committed to reducing paper usage and embracing digital solutions across our operations:

  • Electronic proof of delivery (ePOD): Digital signatures and photo confirmation replace paper-based delivery notes
  • Online booking platform: Our website enables customers to book, manage, and track deliveries without paper documentation
  • Digital invoicing: All invoices and statements are issued electronically
  • Cloud-based systems: Our dispatch and management systems are fully digital, eliminating the need for printed schedules and manifests
  • Electronic communications: We favour email and digital messaging over printed correspondence

6. Carbon Offsetting

While we prioritise reducing emissions at source, we also offer carbon offsetting to further mitigate our environmental impact:

  • Customers can opt to make their delivery carbon neutral at the point of booking for a small additional charge
  • Offset contributions support verified UK and international carbon reduction projects
  • We track and report on total carbon offset annually
  • We are working towards offering carbon-neutral deliveries as standard

7. Waste Reduction & Recycling

We minimise waste across our operations through the following measures:

  • Recycling packaging materials wherever possible, including cardboard, pallet wrap, and plastics
  • Responsible disposal of vehicle parts, tyres, and fluids through licensed waste carriers
  • Reducing single-use materials in our office and warehouse operations
  • Encouraging customers to reuse and recycle packaging materials
  • Proper disposal and recycling of electronic equipment at end of life

8. Office & Facility Energy Efficiency

We take steps to reduce energy consumption in our office and operational facilities:

  • Use of energy-efficient LED lighting throughout our premises
  • Encouraging remote working where possible to reduce commuting emissions
  • Efficient heating and cooling management
  • Switching off equipment and lighting when not in use

9. Monitoring & Review

We monitor our environmental performance and review this policy annually. Key metrics we track include:

  • Fleet fuel consumption and CO2 emissions per mile
  • Paper usage and digital adoption rates
  • Waste volumes and recycling rates
  • Carbon offset contributions
