Haulage company, Manchester
Part loads, full loads and pallets on 7.5 to 26 tonne vehicles across Greater Manchester
Manchester is a straight M62 run from our Bradford yard, a little over an hour, which makes Trafford Park and Salford a same-day collection. We run 7.5 to 26 tonne vehicles with tail lifts on dedicated loads, direct from your bay to the delivery address with nothing else aboard.
What needs hauling across Greater Manchester
Trafford Park is still one of the largest industrial estates in Europe, and the belt running out through Irlam, Eccles and Salford holds manufacturing, chemical blending, packaging, food and a dense layer of distribution. The loads are pallets, part loads, machinery and finished goods, and the volume means most of it moves on networks.
The work that justifies a dedicated vehicle across the Pennines is the urgent or the awkward: a production line waiting on a part, a machine moving between sites, a customer order that has to go today, a load a network will not accept. An hour each way is a short run for a lorry, which makes Manchester one of the easiest places for us to serve properly.
The fleet, by payload
Weight decides the vehicle before size does. A dense half-tonne crate can need a 7.5 tonne even though it would fit in a van. Every one of these carries a tail lift, so a site with no forklift is not a problem.
| Vehicle | Payload | Pallets | Load space |
|---|---|---|---|
| Luton + Tail Lift | 1 t | 6 | 4m × 2m × 2m |
| 7.5t Truck | 2.5 t | 10 | 6m × 2.4m × 2.4m |
| 12t Truck | 5.8 t | 14 | 7m × 2.4m × 2.4m |
| 18t Truck | 9.5 t | 16 | 8m × 2.4m × 2.4m |
| 26t Truck | 15 t | 18 | 8.2m × 2.5m × 2.5m |
Haulage prices from Manchester

Where we collect
Manchester, Trafford Park, Salford, Irlam, Eccles, Stretford, Openshaw, Wythenshawe, Oldham, Rochdale, Bolton, Stockport. Bradford to Trafford Park is a little over an hour on the M62. We will quote a realistic collection window on the call rather than promise an hour to a city we are not sitting in.
Haulage in Manchester — common questions
Is Manchester same-day from Yorkshire?
Yes — a little over an hour each way. Booked in the morning it is comfortably a same-day job including the return.
Can you do a Manchester to Yorkshire run and back?
Yes, and a round trip on one vehicle is usually cheaper than two separate jobs. Tell us both legs when you book.
Do you deliver into Trafford Park?
Routinely. Tell us the gate and whether there is a booking-in time, since several of the larger units will turn a vehicle away without one.
What do you need to know before quoting a haulage job?
Five things, and they settle almost everything: the weight, the footprint and height, how many pallets or items, how it is being loaded and unloaded at each end, and whether either site has a forklift. A job with no forklift at delivery needs a tail lift and a pram truck, which changes the vehicle and the price. Guessing at these is how a lorry turns up that cannot do the job.
What size vehicles do you run?
Luton with a tail lift (around 1 tonne, 6 pallets), 7.5 tonne (2.5 tonnes, 10 pallets), 12 tonne (5.8 tonnes, 14 pallets), 18 tonne (9.5 tonnes, 16 pallets) and 26 tonne (15 tonnes, 18 pallets). Artics are arranged through our partner network rather than our own fleet.
Can you deliver where there is no forklift?
Yes, with a tail lift from the Luton upwards. Tell us at booking that the delivery site has no handling equipment and we will send a vehicle that can unload on its own. It is the single most common reason a haulage delivery fails on arrival.
What about drivers’ hours on a long run?
We plan to the legal limits rather than hoping. If a run will not fit inside one shift we quote it as a two-day job up front and say so. The alternative is a driver running out of hours on your delivery, which costs you the day anyway and costs us the licence.
Do you route for lorries or just use a satnav?
Larger vehicles are routed for weight limits, low bridges and width restrictions, not by car satnav. That matters more than people expect around old mill towns and canal bridges in West Yorkshire, where a 26 tonne cannot follow the obvious road.
Dedicated or groupage?
Everything we run is dedicated — your load, your vehicle, straight there. Groupage is cheaper per pallet and slower, and it means your freight shares a trailer and gets handled at a hub. If your load is fragile, urgent, awkward or has been refused by a pallet network, dedicated is usually the only thing that actually works.
Weight, pallets, and whether there is a forklift
Those three and the two postcodes are all we need to price it on the call. The quote you get is the price invoiced.
