Dangerous goods courier, Teesside
Teesside is roughly two hours from our Bradford base up the A1 and A19, so it is a same-day job booked in the morning and a next-morning job booked late. We carry Limited Quantity, Excepted Quantity and under-threshold consignments on a dedicated vehicle with the transport document and extinguisher in place. Teesside is full-ADR territory for most of its tonnage and we are honest about not holding the certificates for that.
What moves across Teesside and County Durham
The Billingham and Wilton complexes made Teesside one of the great chemical regions of Europe, and although the ownership has changed hands many times the industrial base is still there: fine and speciality chemicals, polymers, industrial gases, fertiliser chemistry and the engineering and analytical firms that serve them.
For a courier the useful work is at the small end. Analytical samples moving to a lab, packaged additives and catalysts in Limited Quantity volumes, aerosols and sealants for maintenance, laboratory reagents between a Teesside site and a parent company elsewhere in the country. These are consignments where the rules are manageable and the clock matters, and where the networks say no on the strength of the label alone.
How quickly we get there
Bradford to Middlesbrough is around two hours. Book it in the morning and it goes today; ring at five and we will tell you honestly that first thing tomorrow is the realistic answer.
Towns we collect from across Teesside and County Durham: Middlesbrough, Billingham, Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, Redcar, Darlington, Thornaby, Guisborough, Seaham, Peterlee. If your site is not on that list it is almost certainly still covered — the list is the main ones, not the limit.
What we will carry across Teesside and County Durham, and what we will not
We carry dangerous goods that fall under Limited Quantity, Excepted Quantity or the ADR 1.1.3.6 threshold today. For a placarded full-ADR load we will tell you so and help you find a carrier who holds the certificate, rather than take the job and work it out later.
Most carriers will not put that in writing until you have already booked. We would rather lose the enquiry at the first phone call than collect a load we are not certificated to move, because the consequence of getting that wrong lands on your consignment note as well as our licence.
What we need from you before collection
- The UN number and proper shipping name — this settles almost everything else.
- The class and packing group.
- The quantity per inner package and the total on the consignment, because that is what decides whether it stays under the threshold.
- Whether the outer packaging is marked and in date, and whether the goods are new stock or waste.
- The collection site and whether it needs a permit or induction, so the driver arrives able to get in.
Send those five things and we will tell you in writing which route the consignment travels under before anything is picked up. If it turns out to need placards and a certificated driver, we will say so and help you place it elsewhere.
Questions we get from shippers across Teesside and County Durham
Is Teesside a same-day run from Yorkshire?
Yes if it is booked in the morning — it is around two hours each way. We will give you a realistic answer rather than promise a time we cannot make.
Can you do a dedicated run from Teesside down to the Midlands?
Yes. Long dedicated runs are straightforward — one vehicle, one load, direct, with live tracking and the POD in your login when it is signed for.
What if the load turns out to need placards?
Then it is not ours. We would rather lose the job at the enquiry stage than carry something we are not certificated for, and we will help you place it.
Send us the UN number and we will tell you how it travels
One call settles it. The UN number, the packing group and the quantity per package, and you will have our answer in writing before a vehicle is sent.
